Hello everybody!!!

We hope this post finds everyone safe and healthy in these strange times. The Waggon and Horses, Oxspring is still fully closed to help us adhere to the government guidelines of safe distancing for us as staff and our customers. However be assured that once restrictions are lifted we will be open and cannot wait to welcome back all our customers old and new – we miss you all!!

Please all of you keep safe and we will see you all for one huge celebration once we are allowed.

It’s Goodbye …. For Now

Well everyone the time has come to say The Waggon and Horses, Oxspring will now be closed for takeaway as well. We feel it is in the best interests of both our staff and customers to ensure that government advice can and should be adhered to. We gave it a good go and we had lots and lots of support from all our lovely customers. The team spirit displayed by our fab team was unbelievable but we must now admit defeat until this world crisis is under control. We will be back don’t you worry and hope to see you all again once the tide has turned. We will never forget how much you have supported us and we have been overwhelmed by the comments and kind words and for that we will always be extremely grateful. Stay safe and look after each other . Lots of love to you all….Over and out

If you have already ordered your takeaway for this weekend we will contact you tomorrow to give refunds.

Well the doors are now closed. What absolutely surreal times for us all. We have had a meeting and decided that due to feedback and messages received there is a demand for us to provide takeaways as people are still wanting to be able to receive our food and support us at this difficult time . However as the doors are now closed we have had to scale back the times we can provide this service. Hence these are our new times:

SUNDAY 12pm to 3pm

FRIDAY & SATURDAY – 4pm to 9pm

Please click on the link below for the menu and prices.

Takeaway Menu

This will be available from Sunday 22nd March (Mothers Day). For takeaways on Sunday’s we will need to have your preorder before 6pm on Saturday so we know what to prepare.

We are offering a collection or delivery service  (within a 3 mile radius. £3 delivery charge outside Oxspring. Within Oxspring free). Please call 01226 763259 to place your order.

To conclude these are trying times for the whole country but the words of encouragement and support have been truly humbling. What fantastic people you are!!! Our team has come together to try and keep providing a service for you all. Just everyone please stay safe and take care of yourselves and each other.  We will all get through this however long it takes. Lots of Love Team Waggon

Following a management meeting and in response to the government guidelines to avoid large gatherings we have decided to postpone the Charity Race night which was scheduled for 28th March and also the Spiritualist evening scheduled for 21st in Rafters Bar. Rafters is a more confined space where keeping a reasonable distance we feel would not be possible hence our decision. The Waggon downstairs will still continue to operate as normal until we are instructed to close by the government. We do want to reassure you that our 5 star standard for health and hygiene is being followed rigorously with extra measures in place. If you have any symptoms then please follow all government advice and stay safe. Our staff have been fully briefed and are also following guidelines.
As a way to move forward and still provide a service we are compiling a takeaway menu which can be collected at the bar or if preferable can be brought to you outside in your car. We will post the menu online and on fb within the next 24 hours. These are difficult times for us all regardless of what industry people work in and we are just trying to do our best by our employees and the community.
Thank you everyone for your support. Lots of love

I would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has contributed towards raising the £3700 for my world challenge trip to Ecuador. Thankyou to all the staff at the Waggon for helping to sell tickets to the race nights, quiz nights, raffles etc. Thankyou to everyone who has attended the events and also to the businesses/individuals that have made donations towards the prizes for all events. I couldn’t have managed to raise the final amount without your help. Although I did fall £98.95 short of the target I am immensely proud of the amount I did raise with your help. Fundraising for this trip was part of the whole learning experience and has given me more confidence in myself and my abilities for the future.

In July 2019 I spent 3 weeks in Ecuador and it was the most amazing experience I could’ve asked for. The first week was spent in the capital of Ecuador, Quito, and this week was used as a climatisation week so that our group could climatise to the high altitude and polluted air. During this week, we didn’t do anything challenging we just explored the local city. The second week was the most important, this was the community project. We arrived in a small community called San Clemente. Throughout the week we were camping and during the day working with the locals to build them some steps using limited materials, such as trees they would chop down and then we secured the logs in place with soil. The steps were to replace a muddy track that was unstable which women had to travel up and down every day when travelling to and from the herb gardens. We also built part of a concrete floor outside to make the ground level and less dangerous. Once they were both completed it was amazing to see how grateful the community was for our help, and we felt like our help was much appreciated. The final week was spent at Quilatoa Lagoon and it involved trekking 14km-15km a day, seeing all the different local communities and the scenic landscapes. As we walked through the communities, we all definitely realised how unfortunate some people are and how lucky we are. The expedition as a whole was definitely an eye opening experience and I’ve come back with a more open mind and the realisation that a lot of people aren’t as fortunate as we are…a very important and humbling lesson to learn
